This department is responsible for preparing of food and meals for the crew on board they also maintain living quarters of the crew and the mess halls. The chief Steward maintains inventories of food stuffs, linen, bedding, furniture etc. the other staff are chief cook, baker and attendants.
The learner will not only develop better understanding of systems and procedures but also conceptual and strategic knowledge and skills to bring about efficiency in operations and achieve sustainable profitability. The candidates also under go to training in the course as required under the standards of training certification and watch keeping STCW-2010 Convention. After Completion pre training the course certificate will be issued by the academy approved by director general of shipping. Ministry of surface and transport govt. of India in additional to that candidates will be award with CDC (Continuous discharge certificate).
